Children’s Early Development Centre Has fun with Christmas Raffle, Children’s Concert
Christmas is over, but if you’re still in need of some Christmas cheer, this story about New South Wales’s Chamberlain Early Learning Centre should keep your spirits lifted and warm.
The Chamberlain Early Learning Centre recently took part in holiday celebrations with their Christmas Raffle event. According to Jane Doro, who is affiliated with the centre, children and parents alike were able to be entertained with holiday festivities.
The centre, located in Guildford, New South Wales, is, according to its website, “a brand new purpose built centre catering for children aged 0-6 years in a long day care environment.”
The centre is a privately operated organization and is licensed for the care of 64 children. These children receive a high standard of early childhood development and care in a secure, nurturing and hygienic environment. The centre boasts providing their children with an excellent teaching staff, the Extensive School Readiness Program, healthy meals, programs based on the National Quality Framework and The Early Years Learning Framework and more.
The goal of the centre, as it states on its site, is to “create an environment of trust and respect.” Ways the centre aims to meet this goal are by creating a culturally diverse and stimulating environment that promotes sensitivity, allowing children to have respect for the natural environment, developing the children’s self-esteem and treating everyone with dignity. No child is taught based on racial stereotypes, gender stereotypes or religious stereotypes. Of course, fun and fostering positive relationships are also in order at the centre.
The centre’s Christmas Raffle was an event that gave children and adults a fun diversion for the day. “[I]t was to entertain the children,” said Doro. “[W]e also had a concert for the families that the children prepared over several weeks.”
In order to get the word out about the event, the centre addressed the parents. “We spoke to families and put letters [on] our newsletter notice boards,” said Doro. “[W]e also created an event on our Facebook page. We encouraged parents throughout the weeks about buying tickets.”
